Overview:

The Heath Coverage Tax Credit is a federally funded program administered by the IRS that pays 80% of qualified monthly health insurance premiums for certain individuals. Due to several factors – such as the current economic environment, the increasing cost of health care and recent legislative changes – the HCTC program is making every effort to increase awareness of this valuable tax credit among people who might be able to receive it.

As part of this effort, the HCTC is conducting a number of customer information sessions.  

* HCTC representatives will be available on Monday 2/15, Tuesday 2/16, and Wednesday

  2/17 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

* HCTC overview presentations are planned for 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM

Parking vouchers will be available.

Q: What is this event?

A: This event is sponsored by the US Internal Revenue Service and is aimed at increasing awareness of the Health Coverage Tax Credit program among people who might be able to receive it. Brief overview presentations are planned for 9:30 am, 11:30am and 1:30 pm. Throughout the day individuals will have the opportunity to ask HCTC representatives any questions they might have.

A: The HCTC is hosting these information sessions to get help to those it need it. The program knows that there are often a lot of questions about the HCTC and that the registration process can sometimes seem confusing. Therefore, they want to have the opportunity to meet with people in the area, answer their questions, and help them through the registration process.

Q: Will there be other events in the future that I can attend?

A: The HCTC program will continue to monitor the need for these types of events closely; however, at the moment there are not any other events scheduled in Detroit, MI after this event.
